And maybe an open set for actual home use. So does anyone have any advice? Drivers to avoid or recommend? I would use a closed back one so I could use it on long train journeys without disturbing other people. ![]() I'd like to keep it under 50 euro for the set. I'm looking on (I have absolutely no affiliation with this website and recommendations from other sources are welcome, as long as they ship to the Netherlands). I was wondering which drivers would be a good fit and give me a modern sound with a good bass response. I think the K140 is quite cool and I'd like to retrofit it with a modern driver that will work with phones (so between 17 and 32 ohm I believe) has anyone ever done this? I have a very good headphone amp for all the 600 ohm AKG's and 300 ohm Sennheisers. But they are basically 600ohms so they are hard to drive. I have a couple of leftover AKG K140s (I restored 1 closed and 1 open back to vintage specs). With the 3D, slow retention ear pads, and open mesh headband, these comfortable headphones were designed for long studio mixing or listening sessions. ![]() I have been restoring my collection of old AKG'S and Sennheiser headphones. The AKG K 812 stereo headphones feature the 1.5 Tesla Magnet System, with dual-layer voice coil, and 53-millimeter transducers, to deliver sounds that are incredibly natural and accurate.
